Garden Route - Garden Route with Game Lodge - Namibia - Botswana - Mamoth South African Trip

CLASSIC GARDEN ROUTE TOUR –  5 DAYS & 4 NIGHTS

DAY 1 OUDSTHOORN

Depart from Cape Town along the "Route 62" which meanders through scenic countryside, passing through the fruit growing  and wine producing towns of Robertson and Montague. This afternoon, we arrive in Oudsthoorn, the  'Feather Capital ' of the world. Visit The Cango Caves where the mysterious and breathtaking limestone formations have been sculptured by nature through the ages.  The Safari Ostrich Farm introduces the largest bird in the world and you are even  given the opportunity of riding an ostrich 

This large town with its wide-open spaces and broad streets is the capital of the Klein Karoo.  Warm, dry summers and sunny winter days make it the ideal breeding ground for the most majestic of flightless birds – synonymous with Oudtshoorn – the ostrich.

DAY 2 KNYSNA

This morning we board the world famous Outeniqua Choo Tjoe for a scenic steam train ride to Knysna, traversing coastal cliffs, tunnels through mountains, forests and lakes.

The afternoon in Knysna is spent at leisure, exploring the local arts and crafts with an opportunity to sample oysters from the local Oyster Factory.

Because of its beauty, Knysna grew as a town. It's lagoon, amphitheatre of mountains and gentle weather all attract the visitors. From the Heads to the evergreen forests, Knysna is beauty in abundance.

DAY 3  PLETTENBERG BAY

This morning we take a leisurely boat trip to Featherbed Nature Reserve. This privately owned Nature Reserve is a Natural Heritage Site and is situated  on the Western Head of Knysna. 

Walk through Milkwood  Forests, onto the Cliffs, exploring historic caves with spectacular scenery, fauna and flora.

This afternoon we travel the short distance to Plettenberg Bay.

DAY 4 PLETTENBERG BAY –

DAY AT LEISURE

Plettenberg Bay's eternal spring weather ensures days of warm comfort and lazy, mild evenings. The rugged Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains encompass fifteen private Nature reserves, each with its own treasures. Optional activities include water sports, kayaking, sailing, exploring the Robberg Nature Reserve on foot, mountain biking and horse-riding through forest trails or relaxing on the pristine beaches.

DAY 5 RETURN TO CAPE TOWN

This morning we return to Cape Town via Mossel Bay and Swellendam, arriving in the Mother City in the late afternoon.
